Baltimore City Mayor Catherine Pugh finally resigned from office yesterday after a month of hiding. Our Chairman Dirk Haire was on WMAL at the 5 PM hour yesterday and discussed our prospects in the city moving forward. We intend to field a credible candidate in 2020 to give the voters of Baltimore City an alternative to the status quo.

"U.S. employers added a better-than-expected 263,000 jobs in April, as the nearly decade-old economic expansion shows no signs of slowing. And the unemployment rate dropped to 3.6 % — the lowest in nearly 50 years."
"So we’re keeping score, this is a 12.4% increase in the income tax rate and a nearly 4% increase in the property tax rate."

"House Minority Leader Nic Kipke: House Republicans played the Democrats like a fiddle throughout this entire process. Kipke and his unified House caucus showed that you don’t have to be the majority party, or even be within shouting distance, to have a positive impact on the process. While Jones was not the first choice for the House Caucus, she was certainly a better choice than the looming specter of Maggie McIntosh."
