RiCH COLLINS

Rich Collins was born in Washington, DC and grew up in Montgomery County. He graduated from
the University of Maryland College Park with a BA in Government & Politics. He met his future bride
Anna in McKeldin Library where they both worked to help patrons in the Social Science Room.

Rich trained as a Sales Rep for IBM. He sold to commercial accounts in Washington, DC
He later worked as a rep for Lexis/Nexis in Washington. He opened new accounts in DoD, Navy and
Air Force. He trained JAG officers how to perform legal research on their computers. He trained
Patent Examiners how to use LEXPAT as part of their process. Rich helped: Defense Intelligence
Officers, Librarians and speech writers for the Secretary of Defense.

Rich currently serves as a mortgage settlement agent. He has closed over 20,000 purchase and
refinance transactions involving residential and commercial properties. Rich derives satisfaction
from volunteering his time, energy and talent with the Lions Club and as a volunteer reader and live
theater audio describer for the blind on behalf of The Metropolitan Washington Ear.

Rich treats people the way he likes to be treated. He worked as a baseball umpire for a number of
years. He likens it to sitting on a powder keg. (Every now and then it explodes). Knowing what to
say and what not to say is important when it comes to meeting people. Rich uses his confidence
and experience to its fullest when networking and campaigning for his chosen candidates which he
has done since 2018 in his home county of Carroll.
